Okay, that makes so much sense. Yes, I was like. I know myself I'm going to end up just ruining this beautiful woman's last name and I don't want to do that. So, Sienna, will you tell us just a little bit about you? You want to introduce yourself a little bit more, you?

did a little bit, but I'm a mom of a two-year-old son. I'm a two-year-old son and we are also in the middle of adopting adopting so I will have a second child very soon. I am so excited for this because my son definitely needs a sibling. I'm not gonna lie, he's lonely and he is so attached to me as his mom he's mommy all the time so I am ready for him to get a sibling and I'm an military spouse. So my husband is in the US Navy and we are currently stationed in Norfolk, virginia, and I'm just excited to see like where his career continues to take us.

Okay, we have so much in common. So my husband's prior military and then my friends, they are stationed at Norfolk as well. Her husband is Navy and so I love how small the world is. Yeah, I love this. We actually this past weekend we were down in like Jacksonville, st Mary's area and there's a Naval base there too. I'm from Jacksonville, oh, so funny. So we're talking about moving to St Mary's and I'm like I have to be somewhere where there's a good commissary, because those commissary perks if anybody listening is military you've got those are the best perk ever is to shop at the commissary.

Yes, they really are, and it's like the best I love in our commissary right now is literally two minutes away from our house, and we don't even live on base, and so I'm like this is everything that I've ever wanted. Everything that I need is right here.

It's perfect oh my gosh, that is so funny. So we drive 45 minutes to Fort Stewart or to Hunter and I'm like, I'm like I can't wait.

I know it is, and so I'm like I can't wait to move and be like within 10 minutes of a commissary. I'm'm so excited, Guys that's not why I brought her on here is to talk about the commissary but it really is the best perk ever. I'm like that is the best thing that ever happened, because now my husband's out and he gets disability and stuff, and so I'm like the best thing to ever happen for vets to be able to keep using the commissary.

That totally makes sense I I would use. My husband is planning on leaving the military soon, so I 100%. As we have access, I will be using it. It's the cheapest place you could buy groceries in the united states like literally oh my gosh okay if he needs help getting disability.

I'm your girl, I'm like a champion at it, and navigating the va system is like my secret skill set. Yes, it is my secret skill set. My husband, all of his friends, are like this could be your side hustle and I'm like I don't need this side hustle, like but I'm a champ. We just had this conversation with a couple this weekend. They were like he was like I have tinnitus and all these things and I can't get it rated service connected. I was like I got you covered, my guy, and we were just like chilling like at a hotel we went down to to Orlando for the weekend and he was like my husband's like how is it you do this everywhere you go?

I'm like, it's just, that's who I am. So, anyway, that is not why we came on to talk about all these military perks. Guys, we could do a whole separate call on military perks. If you guys want to know, we can tell you all about military life and running a business when you're in like that is.

I think that's why it's so important to have a digital like business right, because you never know where you're going to be exactly, and it makes it so convenient, like I work with clients all over the world, I have clients that are in just so many different places and it makes it so accessible to work with more people without every time I move going I have to create a whole new client base and all the things. So it's been very impactful.

I love that. Okay, so I love. I loved, like when I was reading your bio and talking about these marketing strategies and some of the mindset issues. I'm sure this comes across for you first and foremost, but I hear all the time from people that they shouldn't charge because they're a believer, or people don't want to pay someone because they're a believer and they think they should be doing it for free. Is that something you come across all the time?

Speaker 2: 6:14

Yeah, it's such a funny. This is such a funny conversation. And I say funny because I think sometimes we think that because we're a believer, it means that we have to be people pleasers. And in fact, jesus calls us not to be people pleasers. He calls us to be followers of Christ. And so if you're too busy worrying about how you're going to please everybody else around you, you're not actually following the Lord, especially because, when we think about it, every single person has a mission and purpose for their life.

Right, we learn that in Jeremiah and, honestly, in a lot of different places in the bible. But Jeremiah is my favorite book in the bible for this particular topic, and it's because God appears to Jeremiah and he's telling Jeremiah listen, I need you to go and tell these people that if they do not turn from their sin, that I am going to destroy their city. Right, and Jeremiah and this, I think, goes with a lot of imposter syndrome which, by the way, I feel like, if you're a Christian, you should not be identifying with certain word choices, such as having imposter syndrome, anxiety, depression, however you want to name those things those are word curses over our life and we are called to just trust in the Lord throughout all of those things that we may be going through, not to say that they're not real experiences for us, but it's extremely important that we have a lot of faith in the Lord. Right, and so, again, going back to Jeremiah, god comes to Jeremiah and he says you know, I need you to go do this. And Jeremiah says but God, I'm too young. Can you pick someone else? Like I abbreviated obviously, and I think this goes so hand in hand because a lot of people think that they're too young, not qualified, not good enough, not whatever. But God didn't ask you for your qualifications. God didn't ask you if you are capable of doing X, y and Z. No, he gave you a mission, he gave you a purpose. He knew your mission and purpose before he formed you in your mother's womb.

And every single time we decide as human beings that we are going to ignore God's purpose and calling for our life because of whatever excuse we make up in our heads, we are completely disobeying the Lord. And if you were in that power struggle where you're like, oh, I'm going to do things for free or I'm not going to, I'm not going to charge, I could just help someone, yeah, there are going to be times where you could just help someone. But the Lord gave you this gift because he also knows that you have bills to pay. He also knows that you have responsibilities. He doesn't want you to just have this gift and be taken advantage of and not be able to pay your bills. There's too many Christians struggling and not enough Christians going. Okay, you know what I deserve to make this money because of the gift that my father gave me and with that money I'm able to take it and I'm able to do good.

No one is saying that you have to store your wealth. In fact, the Bible actually tells us not to store treasures on earth, but rather to store treasures in heaven. So if you are making wealth from the money that you are receiving from the business that you are working in, give it back to God. There are thousands of people who need that. There are people right down the street who are homeless, who are hungry. There are people talking about military. There are VA communities that need that income. Give it back to the Lord.

Nobody's telling you to have to keep it, but we are saying that you have to charge for it because if you don't, you cannot purposefully live out the mission that God has called you to live out oh, I'm obsessed with what you just said, because this is something like I had to wrap my brain around is because you always hear Christians should be poor and they should live, like me, early, and all those things. And I'm like, where does it actually say that in the Bible? It actually doesn't say that. And I think people always use the story of the rich young ruler or the rich young man and they're like see, jesus has to give away all of your possessions. But I really think it's a lordship issue and a heart posture issue and what are you going to do with it?

So then I think about there was one of my friends. She serves foreign missions, that's her thing and she felt a calling, like a decade ago, to go on a foreign mission and she came up with all the reasons she couldn't go. She's a young mom like her and her husband, they're starting their careers. And but mom, like her and her husband, they're starting their careers. But it was also financing. She's like I can't afford the $2,000 to go on this mission trip and it was only like six weeks away. So it wasn't like she had a lot of fundraising time or anything like that. And somebody that knew somebody. So she told somebody at church, they told somebody they knew, and, without hesitation, this couple paid for her to go on a mission trip. And so because of that then and I feel like I need to bring Kate on to tell the story, but because she served a mission, it inspired this couple to go on their own mission trip, who then took their friends with them on a mission trip, and now their friends are full-time missionaries in Mexico.

And it was all because they had the provision to pay for Kate's mission trip that they were like, hey, we can do something. And so I think it's important to say provision is okay, Like provision is actually great. I would rather money be in the hands of believers than in the hands of non-believers.

Exactly, and I think, like a lot of people get so concerned with the Bible verse that talks about how the root of money or sorry, the love of money is the root of all evil. That is true, satan uses money to do bad things on this earth, but as Christians, we can also use that money to do good things. We don't have to be rooted in evil, and I think what people miss about that verse is that there's a choice in how you use your money. It's not saying that because you have money that you are evil. It's saying that the root of all evil stems from the love of money. We are not called to love money. We are called to love Jesus. And, as a Christian, if you have money, it doesn't mean that you necessarily love the money. Now, if you are chasing money, that is a heart posture that is between you and the Lord and that's something that you have to work on. But it doesn't mean that money is bad and in fact that's not even close to what that bible verse is saying.

I think a lot of times we also look at the bible verse that tells us what's easier for a poor person to enter into the kingdom of heaven than it is for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven, and that's because when we think, let's be realistic, we're humans. When we think about someone who has an extreme amount of money, what are they doing with their money? Are they doing the call of the Lord with their income? Are you giving your 10% pie? Are you stewarding your money? Are you helping other people outside of that with your income? This goes back to a heart posture.

It's not that Jesus is saying that because you're rich, you can't go to heaven. No, if we read the context around those verses, it is literally saying it is what you do with your money that matters, right? We're not supposed to love the money and we're supposed to make sure that the money benefits the kingdom of heaven, which it can if we are doing the right things with. So I think like we need to dial that back as christians. There's so much negative self-talk, also so much untrue understandings of the words that are in the bible and it circulates and then we start thinking like one person tells another person what you're having money and you're gonna go to hell. You love money? That's not sure. Go back, read your bible yourself and stop listening to everybody else's opinion, the Bible is enough on its own.

Hold here. Let's give you like a whole sermon on this topic, because I love this. Just even talking about reading the Bible in context that matters so much. And I feel like I don't know maybe it's just me but I talk to people at churches all the time and they have no idea how to do like an inductive study. They have no idea how to even pull contact from the scripture and I feel like that is a design like of the enemy you know what I mean Like he's not getting these. Yeah, I don't want you to know how to read your Bible in context. I don't want you to know how to read your Bible in context. I don't want you to know how to know what's going on culturally and all of these. I feel like nobody. Now. I feel like more people talk about this, but for a long time I remember we were at a church and the women at the church told me they'd never even heard the term apologetics and they'd been in the church for 25 years and I was like that's concerning.

Yeah, it's deeply concerning to me, like you should know how to interpret scripture and go to other resources and have these conversations, but you should also be able to read scripture and understand it in context, and I feel like the enemy has done a good job, especially if I feel like you can see this with social media too, like you could do so much good with social media and podcasting and we can have really smart people having really intelligent conversations, like you're having now, but then you can also see people on social media saying the exact wrong thing about scripture, and that circulates too.

Yeah, and I think that just goes back to money. How are we using it, how are we bringing that into our business? And I think also you, one thing that was revealed to me at one point too, like, again, heart posture. The Lord told me a year ago Santa, you are chasing money, you are not chasing me. And that was really scary because I had thought, you know I was following the Lord, I had been chasing the Lord, in my opinion, but then I realized that's not true. That's not what was going on at all, and I had to step out of that in order to step into the season where I am right now and my relationship with the Lord is 10 times better, 10 times stronger. And it's not that I've made less money. It's just what I do with my money, how I steward my money, help other people, how I help my own family right, all of these different things.

We are called into a higher purpose, and I'll just say this too there's a lot of people out there. We call them lukewarm Christians, some people call them holiday Christians. However, the phrase is, there's a lot of people that are like dabbling in things that they should not be dabbling in just to make money, right, I know I almost found this trap like over a year ago, before the Lord fixed my heart, which I'm really glad he did, because I was about to invest in a coach whose entire brand is basically chasing money and she does a lot of things that you know as christian are. It's a little uncomfortable, all right, like she believes in manifesting, speaking your money into existence and eft tapping and all of these things that we could sit here and we could do to make well, which is not wrong. It's wrong in the sense of it's not of the Lord right For a lot of people. You see a lot of people on social media that are doing all of these things hypnosis, like all of these things just to make more money. If you just opened your Bible and you just spent 10 minutes like really reading your Bible every single day 10, 15 minutes reading your Bible, trying to understand what the Lord has said you will understand that in the Bible, god gives us a manual for how to make wealth in our own lives and again this goes back to what are we doing with it. But there we don't have to turn to Satan, the enemy, in order to make money in our businesses. There are real ways that we can make money in our businesses. There are real ways that we can make money in our business right now.

Number one is making sure that you tithe. A lot of people don't tithe. We got to get back into a habit of that as a church, as a body of Christ, because that money directly goes to helping other Christians. And I'm not saying you have to give it to a church. If you don't believe that your church is going to do great things with it, don't give it to a church. If you don't believe that your church is going to do great things with it, don't give it to your church.

There are a lot of other ways. You can give away your 10% right and then making sure that you're budgeting, living below your means. Way too many of us grab all this money and then go. I'm going to go buy a private yacht or I'm going to do X, y and Z. No, like what are we doing? We are Christians and not to say that you can't experience those things, but the focus should be on Christ and if it doesn't lead you closer to the Lord, it's not something that you need in life. You can't store treasure on earth. You should be storing it in heaven.

Oh, I love what you just said. It's not that we can't experience those things, it's just, again, it's a heart posture. It's about the relationship with the Lord. We have a friend. He was a pastor of our church a couple of years ago and he stepped away from ministry and so nobody kind of knew why he went back to teaching and things full time and we were like interesting, so he actually was a guest pastor Again. Our church brought him back and he said the Lord showed me that I was. My relationship with him was actually just focused on the sermon and it wasn't based on relationship and so he pulled me out of this pastoral role, out of ministry, so I could just focus on my relationship with him and I thought that was so powerful. I'm like, is it really is just about the relationship and the trust and all these other things. When I think about Solomon, the wealthiest person who have ever lived he didn't pray for money, yeah.

He prayed for wisdom, and I think that's something we should all be praying for, because the more wise we are, the more we'll have discernment in all of our actions, not just in reference to money and I think a lot of people are so shocked that I'm a sales coach that is also a Christian but I believe that more Christians should make money for this reason, so we can help other people. If Satan has all of the money, the world is dirty I don't know what else to say. Like the world is dirty.

I think that's such a beautiful. Yeah, we were saying that earlier. Would you rather have money in the hands of believers or money in the hands of non-believers? Of course I want it in the hands of believers because I trust that other believers, if they have the relationship with the Lord that they say they do, that they're going to go out and do good things with it. I will never forget it was a few months ago.

We had an event at church and that ministry. There's a ministry we fund in full to feed food insecure children as a church and it's really not crazy. It's not expensive to fund this ministry in full and then it's $20,000 a year to fund this ministry and I remember so clearly God being like I need you to match the donation next year. I and I remember so clearly God being like I need you to match the donation next year. I need you to match that. With the economy. There's going to be more food, insecure children and things are going to get more expensive. You're going to have to match that donation and that's probably not the call that everybody else got in the church that day. I highly doubt.

A whole room full of people were told to donate $20,000 to this ministry. But I'm like, of course, because I have a business and because of the provision and things that happen in the business, then I can do something like that, I can match that, and so I love that. You're like yeah, believers should have money, and so I would love to ask you like, how is it, how can you, as a Christian, do sales and do these kinds of things without feeling gross or feeling bad about yourself, about asking for money? What are some like? If you had to give one or two quick tips for somebody to work through that, what would you say to them?

I would say, if you're really struggling with this entire topic, I feel like it's important, number one, that you read your Bible and number two, that you actually have a relationship with God, because he is going to show you what needs to be done. At the end of the day, like I mentioned earlier, there is a purpose and a mission for your life. If there is air in your lung and breath in your mouth, there is a purpose for you. Your mission is not done yet, and so every single day that we wake up as Christians, we need to be honoring that call for our lives. You may not even know fully what that call is, but I guarantee you God is going to provide it to you. He's going to show it to you.

I started my business five years ago. If I would have known in the past five years, god would have me right where I am today. I would have said there's no way. But here's. The thing is that in and of itself, my business turned into a ministry Recently.

I've started having a lot of people say Tina, I have grown in my faith because of you. I read my Bible more because of you. I spend time with God in prayer more because of you and I'm like me, like how did I do that for you? But it's. I go on social media. I talk about my faith. I don't care if that makes me lose sales because you weren't my person anyway. I'm going to talk about my faith because, at the end of this life, the only thing that I'm going to have to look back at is did I live fully for Jesus? That's a yes or no question. If you feel like you're not fully living for Jesus because Jesus told you to do this business but you're scared to charge the right prices for yourself, honey, you're not living for the Lord, you're living for the enemy. So I think we need to rephrase how we are looking at the actions that we are taking.

Snap out of the. I'm not good enough, I can't do it, I'm not capable. I'm too X, y and Z and start going. You know what God gave me this mission. I may not have it all together. I may not know all the answers. Who does Jesus? He has all the answers. He knows exactly what's coming next. All you have to do is trust him. And if you are stuck and you are scared to trust him, then, baby, you may need to reevaluate your faith. That's all I have to say about that. Instead of being so worried about what comes next, just be worried about taking the action right now. The Bible says tomorrow has enough worries for tomorrow. Focus on today.

Oh, friend, this could have been a whole sermon. I am not even joking, I feel like I just went to church. I'm going to go back and take notes on everything you just said, because, oh, it's so good. My gosh, you are, you're amazing. Okay. So if somebody's listening to this podcast and they're like Sienna, I like clearly have XYZ issue, I need to work with you. What does it look like for somebody to work with you? And then how can they get in contact with you?

Yeah. So I am very big on one rule in my business, and that is I do not work with anybody that I do not know. So if we are not friends and we have not had a conversation, we are not able to work together. I want to just say why because I believe that growing your business is a personal journey. I believe incorporating Jesus into your business is an even bigger personal journey, and so, with that being said, if I'm going to help you, I'm going to help you from a Jesus loving perspective, and that means getting to know you as the core human that you are. I'm not in this to just take on every single client, because if I was, I would be missing out on an opportunity to help you grow in your faith with the Lord. Instead, I'm in this to see you, a, grow in your faith with the Lord and then, b, make the sales that you desire to make in your business, and so the two, in my opinion, go hand in hand. You cannot have one without the other. If you're running a business, obviously you can have Jesus without anything else. If you're running a business, you need to incorporate Jesus in it. Is basically what promises of what I'm saying and how we get to know each other is by connecting on Instagram. It's my favorite platform and it's really where I build my community, and so hop in my DMs, send me a message. I love talking to people. Please send me a message. Just hey, girl, I heard about you on this podcast. I would love that and we can just chit chat and it doesn't need to be a pressure thing.

I don't sell to people. I'm a sales coach that does not sell. How I sell quote unquote is I talk about my offers and my stories and if you're interested, you'll let me know, and if you're not interested, you won't let me know. I will never hop in your DMs to talk to you about my offers. I will never cold pitch you. I will never reach out and go hey, girl, thinking about you, do you want to do this with me? Do you want to? No, I'm not interested in that. You'll find out about my offers on my stories and, yeah, that's just the way that I make sales. That's the way I've grown my business. It's been very lucrative for me and it's just because I build real relationships with humans and I encourage everyone else to do the same.

That was clearly what the Lord wanted us to talk about today.
